Colors on laptop screen appear to be inverted. The image looks more like a negative.

Problem description:

Laptop starts as normal but colors on the laptop screen appear to be inverter. The image on the screen looks more like a negative image. Colors on the external monitor connected to the laptop look normal. Reinstalling the video driver doesn’t fix the problem.

Possible cause:

LCD screen failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:

If your laptops starts displaying inverter colors on the screen, most likely this problem is related to the LCD screen. Apparently, the screen controller board went bad. In this case you’ll have to replace the LCD screen.

You still should be able to use your laptop with an external monitor attached to the VGA port on the laptop. The external video output should be fine and usable.
