Laptop makes repetitive beeping sound on startup

Problem description:

Laptop makes repetitive beeping sound on startup. It starts beeping as soon as you turn it on and will not load the operating system. If you press on different keyboard keys the beeping sounds stops.

Possible cause:

Laptop keyboard failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:

If the laptop starts making a repetitive beeping sound on startup, most likely the keyboard has a stuck key.

In order to confirm that your problem is related to the keyboard, you can disconnect the keyboard cable from the motherboard and start the laptop while the keyboard is disconnected. If the sound is gone, you have a defective keyboard and it has to be replaced.

If you don’t want to replace the laptop keyboard, you still should be able to us the laptop with an external USB keyboard. Just make sure the laptop keyboard is disconnected from the motherboard, otherwise it will not load the operating system.
