The laptop screen screen is very loose and wobbly. The screen can stay in the upright position but it doesn’t feel secure.

Screws securing the screen hinges could be found in the following locations
- On the bottom of the laptop. Search for screws located right under hinges. Usually only one screw secures each hinge on the bottom. Try tightening these screws.
Here’s an example:

- On the back side of the laptop. Search for screws located right behind the hinges. It’s possible that you have more than one screw securing each hinge. Thy tightening these screws.

- Under the switch/speaker cover – a piece of plastic located above the keyboard. You can access these screws if you remove the cover.

- Inside the display panel. In order to access these screws it is necessary to remove the screen bezel.

2. It’s possible that one of the screen hinges is broken. If that’s the case, you’ll have to replace the hinge with a new one.
My compaq presario v3000 has woobly screen. I tried to mend it by opening it up but I couldn,t open it and access it,s problem region. And also the screen is flickering at low angles.

You should download the maintenance and service guide (click on the link) for Compaq Presario v3000 notebooks. This is a 7MB pdf file and might take some time to download if you has slow connection.
There are notebook disassembly instructions in the manual. Go to the removal and replacement procedure chapter.
You’ll have to check connections between the video cable and LCD screen, motherboard, inverter board. Could be just connection related issue.
Also, there is a chance that you have a faulty video cable.
