Liquid was spilled on the keyboard and now some keys do not work properly

Problem description:

Liquid was spilled on the laptop keyboard and now some keys do not work properly. Keys either do not type at all or type wrong letters.

Possible cause:

1. Keyboard is damaged.
2. Motherboard is damaged.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:

If the laptop keyboad stopped working properly after liquid spill, you’ll have to replace the whole keybord with a new one. The keyboard is a sealed unit and cannot be disassembled and repaired.

If a new keyboard doesn’t fix the problem and some keys still do not work properly, most likely the motherboard was damaged by liquid. If that’s the case, you’ll have to replace the motherboard.
