One vertical line runs through image on laptop screen

Problem description:

There is one vertical line running through image on laptop screen. The line running through the entire screen from top to bottom. The line might change colors. Reinstalling software doesn’t fix the problem.

Possible cause:

LCD screen failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:

A very think line runnign through the entire screen from top to bottom is a very tipical LCD sreen failure. It’s a hardware related failure. Reinstalling the operating system or video drivers will not help.

In order to fix it, you’ll have to replace the LCD screen. Or use the laptop as is.

These lines tend to multiply. If you get one line, most likely you’ll get more lines in the future.
