Only one half of screen works after laptop was dropped

Problem description:

Only one half of the screen works after the laptop was dropped. The screen is not cracked but one half of the screen is completely white. The other side of the screen works properly.
The laptop works perfectly with video output on the external monitor.

Possible cause:

LCD screen has been damaged.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:

This is definitely the LCD screen related problem. The laptop screen has been damaged. The LCD screen cannot be repaired and has to be replace with a new screen.
